I am 5′6 155 pounds. I will run on the treadmill for 30 minutes switching between 3 and 4 mph. and I will eat 1500 calories a day. How long would it take me to lose 25 pounds and is there anything I should change?

You can’t be running at a 3.0….. There is no way… that is a walk….
LOL but it will probably take you 2 months… I bet you could get it done faster if you also did some incline with your work outs. Also, you can up the amount of time for a longer work out.
You’re not overweight, so it could take you anywhere from 25 weeks (8 months, 1 week) to a year. (People who are heavier tend to lose weight quicker simply because they have more to lose.). It is said if you want to keep the pounds off, you’re supposed to lost 1 pound per week.
3-4 mph on the tredmill isn’t running, it’s a fast paced walk. Running would be at least 5 or 6 mph. I recommend the elliptical instead. Tredmills are typically used to strengthen endurance, but hurt your knees. The elliptical is easy on your knees and there are more programs to choose from. They burn calories easier. Keep doing the cardio for at least 30 minutes, because that’s what burns fat, especially stomach fat.
It’s good that you’re getting a decent amount of calories with your exercise. However, what exactly are you eating? You should be eating more fruits and vegetables, carbohydrates (preferably fiber) before exercise, protein after exercise. Drink lots of water throughout the day.
Don’t base your success solely on your weight. Take your measurements, because the scale might lie. You could end up gaining muscle in the process, while still getting skinnier and toned.
hey deanna-
The calorie intake for healthy women to lose weight is between 1200 and 1400 calories. The calorie intake for men to lose weight is between 1500 and 1800.
start at that speed on the treadmill and every week, try to either increase the speed or the time in which you do it, or alternate.
week1- get used to 3-4 mph
week2- same
week3- increase time from 30min to 40min
week4-continue 40 min but increase the speed.
eat healthy, and drink a lot of water. do NOT drink gatorade. I cannot stress that enough. sports drinks have sugar and carbs that will block your weight loss success.
