lose 25 pounds
Lose 25 Pounds FAQ:

I am 19 years old and I weigh 145 pounds (5 foot 4 if important). Since high school, which was a year ago, I have gained 25 pounds which is ridiculous. I want to lose it now so that i’m back to my high school weight by christmas (5 months).

I plan to walk on the tred mill a mile 4 days a week for excercise.

Is this realistic? How do I go about doing this?

Thanks to anyone with tips!

I had way too many pounds in all the embarrassing areas until I tried out acai berry, I understand they say that pills will not work, but they definitely worked for me, and they have been shown on CNN too. There’s a free trial on currently at , give it a try, what’s the worst that could happen?

Hi:

Actually, the answer below is technically correct for you, because you aren’t really considered overweight. It’s harder for smaller people to lose weight than it is for larger people. (Just learned that from my personal trainer). However, the treadmill walk is not going to give you the results that you are looking for. You need to do an intense cardio workout, basically pushing your body to its limits. Don’t get me wrong, you won’t be able to do this overnight, but you are going to have to find a way to run or really increase the speed of your walking. If you could get access to an elliptical machine, this would work much better. I also use what they call a Precore training machine at the gym, which is the equivalent of a stair stepper but at a quicker pace. You’re not actually walking up steps with this machine, more like stepping quickly in place. Also, drink a ton of water and try to cut back on a lot of bread, pasta or sugars if you haven’t already. Good luck to you :)

Realistically, a mile walk may not raise your heart rate to your fat burning levels, especially considering after time you will increase endurance.

My suggestions:
1. Find your target heart rate and adjust your workout weekly as you increase endurance. You can calculate that:

2. 3-4 times, minimum 30 minutes of cardio at your target heart rate is sufficient.

3. 30% of your weight loss success is what you eat. Cut out junk food, sodas and caffeine. Eat smaller, healthy portions, 5-6 times a day to raise metabolism.

4. Find someone to hold you accountable. Motivation is what defeats most people. Keep a journal/blog, get a workout buddy, or join a group.

Yes, 2 pounds per week is the recommendation because your body will try to quickly gain fat back, but 2 pounds is “sneaky” enough to keep it off.

My best advice is not to give up and stick to whatever health plan/work out routine for 3 weeks minimum. It takes that long for your brain and body to learn “habit.”

I wish you the best!
