Lose 25 Pounds FAQ:

Hi there, I’m about 5 feet, i weight 155 pounds and i need urgent help, school starts in a few days, and its high school :(. More importantly, i need 25-30 pounds lost in september, what is the best diet possible. Please note, I am willing to go out and buy stuff EXCEPT FOR MEDICINES BECAUSE THEY LEAVE NEGATIVE EFFECTS and yes i have consulted with my doctor and he says just diet and exercise. Here’s the catch, i diet one day, and work out, and next day i start snacking :(!!. Please give me a proper diet, with how much exercise i should do daily (in calories, not timings). I am very worried bout my health and future and to you it may not matter, but to me, it is extremely important so please help me!!!! What i really want you to give me in your answer is the following,

Whether i should try detox (and what is detox :p)
what i should eat in break fast,
lunch
dinner
how much i should excersise (in calories, normally i do 200-300 a day, i could start doing 500, i have tried 500 its quite tiring but i have done it for a week then stopped)

How many will be lost in the end

Thank You!!

Hey there,
First of all, congrats on entering high school AND on being concerned with your health. But, let me just say that if you are truly concerned with your health than you should know that there is not HEALTHY way to lose such a large amount of weight in such a short time–especially for a still-growing teenager. If you have already consulted with your doctor, my suggestion is for you to ask your mom/dad/guardian to call your doctor and set-up an appointment for you with a nutritionist–that person can give you a breakdown on how many calories to consume a day, daily meal plans, and ideas about exercise. Everything that you want to know, but from a VERY qualified source. And, this person could also give you some ideas about what supplements (vitamins), if any, you may need. Take care of yourself. And, if the issue is that you are unable to stay on your diet, you should take some time to try and figure out what your eating habits are–when do you start to eat junk food and why? If you can figure that stuff out, you will have begun to change your life around and solve the larger problem. Remember, you are looking for a change in lifestyle, not just a diet for the moment.

Good luck to you–in life and high school. Make sure to stay true to yourself and not fall for all the peer pressure. Keep up with your studies and you will never fall behind. (sorry, i’m a high school teacher and couldn’t help the last part!) =)
