I’m going to a new school so I want to make a good impression. I’m a little overweight right now so…I need to lose some pounds. My school starts at the end of august.

Outside of an amputation, this is not going to happen by the end of the month.
It simply is not possible.
Set a reasonable goal you can keep. If you want to lose 25 pounds, 2 pound loss/week MAX is maintainable. That means you’ll reach your goal around Thanksgiving break.
Best of luck,

this is not possible without the help of surgery. it would take a minimum of 6 months. just wear clothes that flatter your body.
You can’t do that in a healthy way. Losing too much weight too fast causes strain on your heart and can present more health complications. Don’t worry about losing weight, people should like you for your personality, not your appearance. You can still make a good impression without shedding an ounce. Good luck at school!
Not necessarily true Michele.
We do not know enough about this person to know if 25 pounds is attainable. Maybe he/she is 300 pounds… just saying.
Start with the basics, exercise first thing in the morning. Stop eating junk food and stop drinking soda. You should lose a good portion of water weight at first, and the rest will come.
Also, drink lots of water to speed up your metabolism, just don’t drink gallons at a time.
Good Luck! And send me a pic, baby!
thats way too much…try for 8. No one is going to care about what you look like because they will be worried about themselves, just wear something nice that flatters you and be nice to people. They wont hurt you for being overweight.
She’s right, it’s not even possible to lose that much in that amount of time. The fastest way it to eat less, eat right, and exercise more. Likely your first few weeks there you won’t know anyone anyhow. You can make a good impression with your personality. Be nice, be funny, don’t try too hard (that’s a turn off), and dress nicely. So what if you’re overweight. You won’t be the only one. Just start dieting TODAY and lose weight over time. The fastest weight loss is with liquid diet, cleansing and personal trainer. Go for walks every day. Don’t make excuses and don’t buy crap. If it’s not in the house it won’t be available for consumption. Don’t drink sodas. Don’t shop when you’re hungry. And learn to say no in social situations. YOU CAN DO IT!
There really is not enough time. You can, however, make a big stride towards the weight loss. First, you must not put a value on it. NEVER say, “I want to lose 25 pounds.” The problem with that thought is that: consider if you lose the 25. Then what? For most people, they stop doing the things that got them there. The exercise starts to lapse, and the eating habits start to revert back to the “old” way. You really need to look at yourself and convince yourself that you’re creating considerable risk for yourself being that way, both physically and mentally. (You’re already stressed out.)
Here’s my suggestion: You need to consider a diet plan. My wife and I used Weight Watchers. (I’ve kept 25 lbs off since Jan 2007.) The goal is to learn portioning. That should be your priority. Along with WW (or whatever one you want–the message is the same for all of them), you need to get up. I don’t know about your physical condition, but we simply started walking–a lot! We were walking 25-30 miles per week, which really isn’t that much. We’re talking 4 miles per day. Get a friend to do it. Get a pedometer. We used WW pedometers which helped track points gained as we walked. Also, you’ll want to build some muscle, but even push-ups, sit-ups, jumping jacks, etc. will do. The purpose is to get your body to start burning calories like crazy. Walk as much as you can, including taking the stairs–and not just down!!! If you’re a lot overweight, you may lose even more than 2 pounds per week, but you need to make sure that you listen to your body (in terms of pain or changes), but ignore your body when it comes to it telling you it’s hungry, or wants pizza, etc. I will tell you: IT IS HARD, but if it was easy, everyone would look like they belong on the cover of a magazine. You need to find your own motivator. For me, it was the hatred of what I was becoming, and the pain knowing that I was showing my kid how out of control I had become. I’m still not satisfied, and you should never be either. If you get to your weight, and it took 100 push-ups per day, and walking 30 miles per week, you’d better decide to do 150 push-ups and walk 35, just to prove to yourself that you could. On the other hand, people gravitate to confidence. You don’t really need to lose 25 lbs. to be confident. That comes from inside. Your goal to lose 25 lbs is so you can be a participant and not a spectator.
Good luck, and fight the good fight!!!
