Lose 25 Pounds FAQ:
I want to lose about 25 pounds within a month which is when school starts for me. I’m a girl, 14 years old, 5′4″, and 140 pounds. I used to weigh about 129 pounds around the beginning of march, until I gained about 10 pounds in muscle doing excercise videos and also doing track. I want to lose weight to feel good about myself b/c right now, I feel fat and insecure of myself. Our grocery store isn’t really big, I mean it is, yet it doesn’t have billions of varities of foods. So stuff to eat that a normal grocery store would have would be best. I just want to feel good about myself, so I’m open to all answers. (except for answers that say try weight watchers b/c my mom won’t let me join and/or order that stuff) I’m just looking for a simple, diet where I can lose about 20-25 pounds within a month.
btw, last summer, I played solitair. with the cards, not the computer type. And when I lost, I would do 30 sit-ups and 5 push-ups. because of that, I lost 4 pounds that summer and I somewhat have a 4-pac or whatever the heck you would like to call it that is somewhat visible.
also, I would like to lose fat off of my legs, but for now, my biggest concern is the weight around the middle.

There are many good options. Most experts say that you only gain weight from skipping meals. While this is true, cutting your portions in half can make a huge difference. Expecting to lose 25 pounds in one month is not only reasonable, it can cause serious heart damage. A more reasonable goal is 15 pounds in one month. There are also weight training bands that go around your stomach that burn fat much faster than if you were to run without one of these bands. If you parents won’t let you do that, you can wear a sweatshirt when you run and that will do the same for you. If you want to lose weight around your thighs consider running with sweatpants on also. Also, everynight do 100 crunches sitting straight up, 50 to the right side, and 50 to the left side.

there is no way to lose 25 lbs without becoming anorexic. In addition, you will gain all the weight back plus some more if you lose weight in an unhealthy way. If you want to lose weight permanently, stay away from the diet pills and go to a certified nutritionist who will give you meal plans and more. Any diet with a name probably won’t be good for you because they were designed for obese adults.
southbeach diet can make u lose 10 lbs in 2weeks just stick to it religiously. and its not that hard. u can stil have all the coffee and tea u want, have jello, and chocolates (low fat, black).
I lost 25 pounds in a month and it was a combination of exercise and dieting. I used to have breakfast and Lunch ( Small portions of course). I skipped the dinner. Early in the morning before having anything else to eat have a cup of warm watter with a spoon of honey and lime ( this helps you burn off some fat). Treadmill is your friend. I did 30 min in the morning and evening. Also try not to watch TV or sit in front of your computer, be active it can raise your BMR. Good luck loosing weight.
You said you gained ten pounds in muscle. That is a good thing because muscle burns more calories and speeds up your metabolism. Muscle also weighs more than fat. Check out this site to check your body mass index to see where you should be for your age. If you do need to lose weight, don’t drink carbonated beverages such as Pepsi or Mt Dew, drink lots of water, and don’t eat foods with a lot of sugar. Choose lower carb fruits and vegetables (such as raspberries, strawberries, green beans, dark green types of lettuce) Check out this site for lower carb vegetables
Eat whole wheat bread and fish, chicken or turkey. Walk or jog for exercise. Good luck!
You may want to focus on your health more so than your weight. At 14, loosing weight should not be difficult at all. Your need to know that sugar, junk food, and fast food are not your friends when it come to being fit (You know being fit means you will be at your ideal weight). You may want to consider asking your parents to provide more natural fruits in vegetables in your daily diet and remove or reduce wheat, dairy, and sugar. Eat fresh food not processed food (food in boxes, restaurants, etc.) is always better. Drink water, green or ginger tea 30 minutes before or after each meal. These things will get you on your way to being healthier which will translate into a smaller and more vibrant you. I have a fourteen year old that follows this practice and she is always receiving complement on how healthy she looks. She is 5’2” and 98 pounds with excellent muscle tone and very strong. Look at in the kitchen section on why you should stay away from wheat (gluten), MSG and other foods that causes obesity and hypertension.
Get exercise, walk or jog each daily and play sports at your school in the spring, winter, and fall. This will help you to day tomorrow and for the rest of your life. Don’t be concerned about loosing 25 pounds in a month, it is not healthy. You can become very sick doing this. After all, you did not put on 25 pounds in a month. When you look and feel healthy because your are healthy, people will notice.
