On tv, they always either have people who lost 25 pounds in bikinis, or people who lost 400 pounds in suits because of all their loose skin. What about the people who lose 100-150 pounds. Do they get that loose skin thing too? Or can they look normal?

honestly, it depends on how fast you lose it, how hydrated you stay and how fit you become.

If you lose it SLOWLY, 1-2 pounds a week, and incorporate lots of weight training, drink lots of water, you might be ok! It depends on peoples skin elasticity, age, how tall you are, etc. So, just get on a diet and exercise plan, and start losing weight! I know a girl who lost 100 lbs and while shes not super toned, she still looks FABULOUS, and doesnt have all the extra skin….

Lady luck is correct in her answer, but she also forgot to mention that age plays a very important role. As you age, your skin just doesn’t replenish the collagen at the same rate it does when you are young, so it takes longer for your skin to return to normal.

It is possible to take off a great deal of weight and have no effect on your skin tone IF you are under 30 years of age and you take the pounds off slowly with a well balance highly nutritious eating/exercise plan…..
The older you get the more slowly you must go if your body is to reabsorb that extra skin.
Be sure you are getting a good balance of a variety of foods. Vitamin supplements can help but they are NOT the answer. Get 3 to 5 servings of low fat dairy…eating yogurt and drinking milk can make a real difference in your skin.

If you are 30 you can take off 1 or 2 pounds a week.
At ages:
40 4 pounds a month
50 3 pounds a month
60 2 pounds a month
If you need to take off weight it is best to do so at a young age. and keep it off!

I quit smoking in my 50s and put on a lot of weight … I took off 40 pounds over the course of 4 years with no saggy skin.
My husbands doctor put him on a weight loss program at age 65 … he lost the first 20 pounds quickly now he is taking off about a pound a month. His skin tone is very good.
